I trained as a Chartered Architect at Newcastle University and have been based in Durham City for 27 years at Howarth Litchfield Architects where I am Managing Director. I have three sons Nathan, Jerome and Zachary who attended St Michael’s School in Esh and Saint Leonard’s in Durham. I am an extraordinary Eucharistic Minister and Confirmation Catechist within our cluster of churches.
I recently became a Foundation Governor for the Federation of Our Lady Queen of Martyrs and St Joseph’s Schools to continue my support of Catholic Education and to give something back to our schools.
I believe our Head Teacher, teachers and support staff are a dedicated team and it is a privilege to be involved as a governor. I believe that being governor is about getting to know your schools and supporting the Head Teacher to create the best possible environment for our children to learn and achieve the best that they can.
When I’m not busy designing buildings at work I enjoy listening to live music, playing the guitar, drawing, reading, visiting the theatre, watching football, scuba diving and travelling. I have 2 cats, Jacob and Theo who are very mischievous and get up to all sorts of antics!
