I am a retired Primary HeadTeacher formerly of OLQM & St Godric’s, Durham and I am passionate about Catholic education and all it offers academically and spiritually.
I love reading, walking, theatre visits, travelling and meeting people. Last year I walked The Camino in Northern Spain (a great challenge for me!) and am hoping to do so again this year. I am a Diocesan Representative for Recruitment and Retention in Catholic schools and Baptism Catechist and Eucharistic Minister In my parish of Durham Martyrs. I am also privileged to help with Quiet Prayer Days at Minsteracres.
I’m married and my husband and I have two daughters who attended OLQM & St Leonard’s from where they proceeded to university. They are now parents themselves and have given us our three amazing grandchildren, two granddaughters and a grandson. They are the love of our lives as we have entered that fabulous era called grandparenthood. We sooooooo enjoy our grandchildren and all the great joy, fun and laughter they bring. They are a constant reminder why I wish to remain involved in Primary Catholic education as a Foundation Governor and support OLQM & St Joseph’s and their multi -talented, hardworking HT & staff provide the very best Catholic educational opportunities deserved by every child and their family in these challenging times.
